With all of these changes, its a great time to step back and re-evaluate what it means to be a marketer and where our profession is moving.

Project X-ITE helped our team understand the issue we were solving and forced us to keep focused on the issues that mattered. Just as X-ITE had grown into their role of supporting students and understanding our core issues, we were gaining new understanding of our customers’ behavior and designing around that. Both Cultivo and Project X-ITE had arrived in the mystical land known as product market fit, and the results were showing.

We can all relate to the feeling of having an idea for a little project of sorts. Sometimes it comes from an inconvenience, a chance encounter or a thought of something that could be fun. Seldom, however, do we really follow through on them. This is not a preachy blog post about actually executing; don't worry, I won't put you through that. What I will do is tell you about a recent idea I had that I did execute on, and the simple joy I found in doing it for nothing more than feeling creative and productive. For me it came from a frustration I experienced.
